Nancy L., RVT
Registered Veterinary Technician
Read More
Nancy has worked with Fishers Veterinary Associates since 2018. She is originally from Washington, IL – a small town in central Illinois outside Peoria. She got the veterinary bug spending time on her friend’s farm, and soon was volunteering and then working as a kennel/veterinary assistant at the local vet. I proceeded to Iowa State University and then finished my Veterinary Technology and Bachelor’s Degree with a specialty in Animal Behavior at Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine.
When she was in the 2nd grade their beloved family dog went into a severe seizure one afternoon. She recalls being petrified of the situation and rushing the dog to the vet. She sat in the lobby waiting on word of her dog’s condition and the veterinary technician coming out to console her and explaining her dogs condition in terms she could easily understand. The veterinarian later came and took her back to visit her dog and further explained why this had happened, how they could fix it and assuring her things were going to be okay. The time the veterinary staff spent with her made a lasting impression and from that day forward she knew she wanted to be able to help animals and their families with their animal medical issues and to be able to provide that same comfort to people when they need it.

DeAnna started with Fishers Veterinary Associates in August 2019. She moved to Noblesville to be closer to family in 2011, and received an Associates in Applied Science in 2014 from Harrison College.
She always knew she would work with animals, in fact as a kid she would pretend to play “vet” on her stuffed animals! She would bring home every stray she came across and was very good at convincing her mom they’d make the perfect addition to their family. She recalls always feeling that she’s in the right profession since tech school, because she truly loved what she was learning and dedicated everything she had to her education. To this day she loves to learn as much as she can about animal medicine. Working with animals is the reward that goes without saying. It’s true her patients can’t talk but she reaps rewards in various other ways, taking a headbutt or a lick to the face over a verbal “thank you” is reward enough for, DeAnna!
Her fur family consists of 3 dogs (Aurora Anne, Lennox and Valentine) and 2 cats (Miss Pocket Panther and Charlie Brown). In her free time she enjoy’s all things music! Like playing her violin, attending EDM concerts, and music festivals to name a few!
