Positive Reinforcement Dog Classes

Our Puppy Start Right and Manners classes, held at Carmel Veterinary Clinic in Carmel, IN, focus on teaching puppies and adult dogs the skills they need to become well-adjusted members of the family. These fun and interactive classes will teach your pet to follow basic commands, engage with their environment, and build the foundation for a lifelong relationship with you. We use a positive reinforcement approach, meaning your dog’s good behaviors will be rewarded with treats, making learning fun and effective.

Classes are held on Saturday afternoons in the lobby of our Carmel location. The cost for the 6-week course (whether Puppy Start Right or Manners) is $160.

Julie Settles is a Registered Veterinary Technician at Fishers Veterinary Hospital and a Karen Pryor Certified Training Partner. With over a decade of experience in veterinary care and training, Julie combines her knowledge of animal behavior with positive reinforcement methods to ensure that training is effective and enjoyable. Her approach is all about building a relationship of trust with your dog, where good behavior is consistently rewarded. This allows your pet to learn new skills and grow into a well-mannered companion.

At Carmel Veterinary Clinic, we care about your dog’s health and safety. Before starting training classes, we require that all participants are up-to-date on their vaccinations, including distemper, parvovirus, bordetella, and rabies.
